

Formerly of Caherlistrane, Co. Galway On Friday, the 26th of June, 2026, Fr. Michael passed away peacefully in the excellent care of the staff of St. Mary’s Nursing Home, Galway, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Delia and his brother John. Fr. Michael will be sadly missed by his brothers Bernie and Pat, his sister Mary (Glynn), brother-in-law Séamus, sisters-in-law Ann, Patricia and Mary, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends, together with Bishop Michael Duignan, Bishop Emeritus Brendan Kelly, his brother priests, colleagues and former parishioners.

Reposing at The Holy Family Funeral Home, Mervue, (H91 FH52), on Sunday the 28th of June from 7:00pm. Removal at 8:30pm to St. Columba's Church, Castlegar (H91 E4C9). Requiem Mass will take place on Monday the 29th of June at 12:00 noon. Fr. Michael will then be laid to rest in Donaghpatrick Cemetery, Caherlistrane. Please Note: Access to the funeral parlour, is through the front entrance of the main church. Wheelchair users or people with mobility issues, can access the funeral parlour at ground level from the car park.
