5th May 2026

On the 5th of May 2026, Mick passed away peacefully in University Hospital Galway, after a long illness bravely borne, with his loving family by his side. Will be sadly missed by his loving wife and soulmate Josephine, daughters Michelle, Marita and Helen, son Mark, adored grandchildren Maya, James, Zach, Alex and Luca, sons-in-law Jarlath and Fabio, daughter-in-law Margaret, sisters Noreen, Catherine, Geraldine and their families, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbours and many friends. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Nora, sister Mary and brothers John and Seamus.

May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Reposing in Irwin’s Funeral Home, Bóthar Irwin, Galway (H91 CK84), on Thursday the 7th of May from 5pm. Private removal at 6:30pm to his residence. Mick’s Requiem Mass will take place on Friday the 8th of May in St Patrick's Garrison Church, Renmore, at 11am (H91 E22C). Cremation service to follow, in Shannon Crematorium, County Clare (V14 PV30).

Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to Down Syndrome Ireland or St. Pius' Ward - University Hospital Galway.
